I agree with you completely about the stupidity of Twitter. I think Facebook is only a little more involved than Twitter, but really not much different. I had to laugh when you mentioned Xanga. That was the first one someone online tried to get me involved with. Xanga was different, because it was more like an online journal. I thought that for a lot of people who would not otherwise take the time to keep a journal it was a good thing, because there is a lot to be gained from putting your thoughts down in words. When a person is often confused or needs to evaluate his or herself, there is no better way than to be able to reread your thoughts. I just didn’t like Xanga because I began to discover how dull and dry and void of passion I had become, and I don’t like telling the whole world my personal business to begin with. Also, I didn’t like the way Xanga tried to get you to pay just to keep an online diary.

Rumors are about the worse thing that can happen to a human being. It gives you a very low self-esteem, even though the accusations are falsified. Thanks for this…it brings a new light to the end of a tunnel.

and, yeah. i was thinking about the “lean on me” thing like during camp, when they introed it to us for worship. I’ve known the song for years over the radio, and i guess ive been wondering why its for worship… it’s perfectly fine for a fellowship idea, but it doesn’t worship or praise the lord…

Yeah, it seems like that saying is more like wishful thinking. The good thing is that these days I think teachers and people in general recognize that it ain’t necessarily so and they don’t discount teasing and the like as easily as they did in generations past.

I don’t understand what’s wrong with using Lean On Me for worship? I mean most places of worship focus on building community and helping one another. I’d think that song would be a natural. Am I missing something?
